Why did you decide to sign up for Sustainable Business Strategy?
I wanted to learn more about the business case for utilizing sustainability within a business model.
What did you enjoy most about learning with Harvard Business School Online?
I enjoyed hearing from top executives of large firms (i.e. Unilever) and their sustainable initiatives. Additionally, speaking with individuals that lived in different countries was very enlightening. Lastly, I enjoyed the ability to complete at my own pace because I liked to step away and think about each question.
How are you applying what you’ve learned in Sustainable Business Strategy?
I am trying to make the business case for a sustainable transportation service, which utilizes teleoperation, VR technology, electric vehicles, and solar energy. I hope to convey the concept of "Us/Later" versus "Me/Now" to push the service to market. Furthermore, I will utilize a scenario analysis to assess the risks associated with my proposition. Lastly, this course helped me understand how to engage all stakeholders.
Any advice for people who will be taking HBS Online courses?
Give yourself time to engage with others on the platform and keep pace with the rest of the cohort. There are a myriad of great opinions from the cohort, and individuals with answers much better than myself.
