What did you enjoy most about learning with HBS Online?

I loved the sequential manner in which the course took us along, having to complete every step and lesson before moving on to the next one. The case studies covered in the usual HBS way were most exciting, as they made me realize how to actually put the design thinking and innovation learnings into practice in real-life situations.

How are you applying what you learned in Design Thinking and Innovation?

Now that I've been exposed to these principles, I automatically approach any problem with the tools I learned as part of the course. I look at how best to approach a problem using design thinking principles to get the most innovative solution. I never forget to ask myself, "Am I missing something key here?"

Could you please describe the value of going through the course and project weeks together as a team?

It was the most amazing experience to undergo this course alongside my work teammates and peers. We exchanged notes, peer-reviewed each other's projects, cleared our doubts, and thoroughly enjoyed the course and all the learnings it offered. Dean Srikant Datar delivers lessons in a manner that makes them easy to grasp and apply.

I think our organization has benefited immensely from the course, and each of us took away some key learnings that we'll apply whenever we come across problems and issues that need dealing with at work.

What kind of career advancement, if any, have you experienced since completing Design Thinking and Innovation?

Since I'm already a senior manager, my benefit is more related to the manner in which I now think of problem-solving. At every opportunity, I attempt to pass my learnings on to teammates so they can, in turn, benefit from and apply them toward creative, innovative solutions to problems. My aim is to create a culture of innovation within RMZ Corp so we can continue to benefit and grow in leaps and bounds towards our ambitious targets.
