Maggie Oh
An animator with dreams of starting her own company
Where are you working?
I currently work at NVidia. Previously I worked on Microsoft's HoloLens, Halo 5, Halo 4. Previous to games/real-time technology, I worked on films such as the Academy Award-winning Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest and Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith (at Industrial Light and Magic), Pixar's Cars, and California Academy of Sciences's Planetarium for "Fragile Planet."
Why did you decide to sign up for CORe?
I wanted to take CORe to gain a better understanding of business terminology and acquire the beginnings of business acumen. My long-term goal is to start my own company that serves as well as propels rendering technologies for the entertainment industry for better public consumption.
What was your favorite part of the program?
My favorite part of the program was the social aspect of it all - even though it was an online class, I keep in touch with the cohort and I've even met a few people in person!
How are you applying what you've learned in CORe?
I've taken Disruptive Strategy, and I'm continuing my online learning with Harvard Extension School's Organizational Behavior.
BS, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
MFA candidate, Animation, Academy of Art University
I feel that I am no longer wary of entering into business conversations; my confidence has gone way up with regards to accounting, economics, and analytics.
