Why did you decide to sign up for Leading with Finance?

I decided to sign up for Leading with Finance because I not only wanted a refresher on the principles of finance, but also wanted to take a more proactive and deeper approach to my company's financial positioning. While there are many programs available, I was intrigued by the format of this course. Specifically, the active and online case-based approach that allowed for flexible schedules while applying real-world learning from real people in actual situations. Leading with Finance instructed by Professor Mihir A. Desai is one of the best courses I've taken and I would recommend it to anyone.

What was your favorite part of the program?

The six different modules were all challenging and beneficial at the same time, however, the module that caught my interest the most and would be considered my favorite was Module 5 - Valuation, very closely followed by Module 1 - Financial Analysis and Module 4 - Creating Value.

How are you applying the skills you've learned in Leading with Finance?

I have learned an extensive amount from Leading with Finance, some that was a refresher and some brand new. One specific example of where I'm able to apply what I've learned is through the Valuation. My company has recently been evaluating many different strategic acquisitions, in which I've been able to better evaluate the true value of different deals. Specifically, not just putting a value to the actual financial performance of a company, but also to the perceived synergies, etc.

Any advice for people who will be taking Leading with Finance?

Be proactive and deliberate about applying the principles learned directly into real-world situations, preferably within your own company.
