Why did you decide to sign up for Sustainable Business Strategy?

I was excited to learn about companies who prioritize sustainability, exactly how they do it, and how I could learn to become a more sustainable business leader myself. As a millennial, I’m drawn to brands who stand for something and make an effort to better the world we live in. This course taught me which businesses are leading the charge and how profitable sustainable business practices can be. 

What was your favorite part of the program? 

I really enjoyed access to the business leaders. From Unilever to Walmart, King Arthur Flour and more, the course made me feel like I was having a 1:1 conversation with these brilliant leaders. It made them feel accessible and human – putting more of a face and heart behind each brand. It was heartwarming to hear about how much these leaders truly care about their employees and our planet. 

How are you applying the skills you've learned in Sustainable Business Strategy? 

I now have a better understanding of sustainability and which companies are doing it right. I’m armed with talking points proving that sustainability is good for business, the environment, and its people. As such, I’ll be more mindful of firms doing sustainability right and that information will arm my buying decisions as a consumer. Professionally, I’ll recommend sustainability practices for brands that I currently work with and seek out brands who prioritize sustainability for my firm as new business targets. 

Any advice for people who will be taking Sustainable Business Strategy? 

Lock yourself in a quiet room where you won’t be disturbed. I underestimated this advice, and quickly learned how important it is to truly focus and absorb the material.
