Why did you decide to sign up for CORe?
I took CORe because I wanted to supplement my engineering education with a sense of business acumen. Being able to actively think about economical, analytical, and financial factors as they pertain to my industry and line of work is a skill I wanted to develop and strengthen. CORe gave me that opportunity, through the guidance and teachings of world-class HBS faculty.
What was your favorite part of the program?
I enjoyed being able to interact with motivated, ambitious students from all over the world. Furthermore, the course content and platform were extremely engaging, combining the best of pedagogy and technology.
How are you applying what you've learned in CORe?
Using some of the lessons learned throughout CORe, I'm able to strengthen my software project endeavors by actively taking into account and applying the course concepts. One such example is hypothesis testing. After developing a hypothesis test for a new design feature on my personal website, I was able to gather data based on how usage fluctuated between not showing the change and displaying it prominently. Thanks to some of the lessons in Business Analytics, I could analyze the data and draw a proper conclusion based on figures and statistics rather than on my personal opinion.
