HBX's newest course, Sustainable Business Strategy, will teach you the skills and knowledge you need to become a purpose-driven business leader. The course explores how organizations across a range of industries are doing well by doing good. We've spent the last year interviewing business leaders around the globe to create this course. Now, let’s meet the protagonists of these case studies who are using business to help solve some of the world's most pressing problems.

Unilever

A European consumer goods giant, Unilever’s portfolio includes some of the most well-known food, beverage, cleaning, and personal care brands in the world. The company’s enormous reach affords them great influence in the global supply chain, including the opportunity to impact future business practices. In the course, we focus on their involvement in driving sustainability in the tea and palm oil supply chains, as well as their general sustainability practices.

Transatomic

Transatomic is developing a reactor that generates clean, safe, proliferation-resistant, low-cost power as an environmentally-friendly alternative to fossil fuels. The CEO and co-founder, along with the company’s chairman, give us insight into the market for clean energy disruption. As we explore how this small team is attempting to accomplish a huge goal, we analyze their business case for attracting investors and speculate about the potential return they could realize with their success.

King Arthur Flour

Bringing more than bread to the table, America’s oldest flour company, King Arthur Flour, has implemented innovative tactics to remain a thriving business in the baking industry. We explore how their determination to build community translates to their balance sheet, and consider how their community culture and innovative governance style play a major role in doing so.
